Esprit Film Day Throckmorton Airfield
November 03
The day started with Martin and I meeting Mike and Caroline with their Gold V8GT at Pencoed at 0930, all seemed well we started out of the car park, a chap pulling in shouts to me. “Hey you’ve got a Flat Tyre” he was correct of Course the rear was as flat as a pancake.
We did try to resolve the problem but that failed badly, I limped the car back home, on arrival martin whipped out his Nice clean Elise and we shot off to meet to the waiting band of Esprit’s, by the time we had arrived at 12:30 the party had already begun, the Ex factory GT1 Race car had already done its stuff, ripping up the Tarmac, so we were told by Mike, the video evidence will show us that bit of fun later.
The Film Crew certainly knew what they wanted to create the whole event, it went like clockwork with cars doing all sorts of manoeuvres up and down the wide ½ mile long stretch of Tarmac. Running past us 12..abreast then next time weaving back and forth. Later given their heads, the cars started racing up and down, going flat out up and down, head lights blazing in the darkening afternoon overcast Day, it started to drizzle later and boy was it cold, my hands were freezing, running two Video Camera’s at times.
Mike S with his Monster GT1 Replica was Screaming up and Down and gave most of the chaps standing around passenger Rides, Boy is that thing Quick and what a really fantastic noise it makes completely different to the Rest.
The day only ended because the weather closed in, as it was very cold, every one saying there good byes and shooting off in all directions. The Video footage I shot is very interesting, capturing so many Models doing there stuff for us watching few to enjoy.
My Sport 350 now has new rear Boots P Zero Rosso’s. One day we will be able to Buy this film about the Esprit shot in many different locations..
Have a Nice Day..
