RECENT ROUND UP
19TH SEPT - CLWB RYGBI CYMRY CAERDYDD, Away
A much improved performance from the Sarries saw them trail by just a single score, 14 – 7, at half time. Despite enjoying a lot of possession and, on several occasions, threatening the Clwb line in the 2nd half, momentary lapses of concentration cost the Sarries dear as Clwb crossed for 3 tries all from Sarries errors

26TH SEPT – LLANDRINDOD WELLS, Home
Another improvement saw the Sarries push the Mid-Wales side all the way, with all the points coming in the 1st half. In the second half the game started to deteriorate, probably due to the closeness of the score and the tension that this created. Even the final second of the game was tension filled. A Sarries penalty kick at the posts was missed, but Llandrindod fumbled the ball that had landed behind the try line. With the Sarries following up, a try for them in the last second was still a possibility, but unfortunately Llandrindod cleared just in time.

3RD OCT – YNYSOWEN, Away
Another step up in performance, against an Ynysowen side with strong forwards, saw the Sarries in this match until the final minutes trailing 13 – 3 with 10 minutes to go. One nasty moment 7 minutes from the end saw Sarries prop Dave Lloyd taken to hospital by ambulance with a neck injury. Thankfully it was no more than a stinger. We must thank Ynysowen and particularly their physio Mark for the assistance with our injured player until the ambulance arrived. With the ambulance on the field and the paramedics carrying out treatment on the pitch, players, spectators and club officials were somewhat surprised when, instead of abandoning the game, the result would stand as 73 minutes had been played, the ref transferred the game to the adjoining pitch to play out the last 7 minutes, during which Ynysowen scored their 3rd and final try
YHYSOWEN 20 – CARDIFF SARACENS 3
Penalty – Craig Davies
one of the local councillors in Ynysowen played for the Sarries in the 60s, would any of the old guys remember Brian Mansbridge Apparently he said he'd come down, with his Sarries scrapbook, when we play them at home on 20th February.
