Cambelt change!

Hi everyone, as a newbie owner of a S1 I'm trying to find out if the C service with cambelt change requires the engine to be removed and what sort of cost it should be at an independant garage....I'm getting conflicting info so far, any assistance would be appreciated!

Engine isn't removed and no need to remove the clam shell either, the belt can be change by taking the wheel arch liner out. C Service from an independant I would say around 400-600, may be less if you're very lucky.
